Rachel’s challenge hosted a fall festival, “Trunk-or-Treat”, for groups from local children’s shelters. In this first ever event, the goal was to give the children the whole Halloween experience, and provide them with a safe place to Trick-or-Treat. The children involved are ones in need from local shelters, and Rachel’s Challenge does new activities with them each month.

“We just want to provide the children with fun and safe events to see them happy,” said club sponsor, Mrs. Harmon.

The day of there were cars lining the parking lot, decorated to match the Halloween spirit. The winning trunks included sophomore Audra Smith’s cookie monster trunk, and the Class of 2019’s spooky spider web car. Everyone who dressed up qualified for the costume contest, and even though there were many amazing contestants, the win went to Helen Doan for her “Batgirl” costume.

If you are interested in joining Rachel’s Challenge, please come see Mrs. Harmon in room 119. Rachel’s Challenge is a club that creates the “want to” or desire for positive change. They immerse themselves in volunteer work, fundraising, and random acts of kindness. They are always growing and would love to have new additions to their club.
